Two things matter more than anything else you will read on a website. Do not discuss the facts with anyone but your lawyer, and do not miss a court date. Almost everything else can be worked with.

How a case actually moves
An arraignment is where the charge is read and a plea is entered. What follows is mostly the unglamorous part: getting the reports, the video, the calibration records, the witness statements, and reading them properly. Cases turn on what is in that file far more often than on anything said in a courtroom.
From there, a case resolves by negotiation or goes to trial. Both paths require the same preparation, which is why that preparation comes first and the decision about which path to take comes second.
